Legislation - Senate Bill 291
- Region 11 RC, Rich Snooks, was interviewed for this article. What
do you think?
- "Motorcycle helmet law debate continues"
" The debate
on whether motorcycle riders in Michigan should be required to wear a helmet
has started again.
It was recently reported that two different
legislations were introduced to the House and Senate to repeal the nearly 40
year old law that mandated those who ride on a motorcycle must wear a
helmet. If passed, one bill would allow riders above the age of 21 to ride
helmet-less if they carried at least $20,000 in personal injury insurance.
The other would require riders above the age of 21 to pass a safety course
and carry a motorcycle endorsement on their license for at least the two
previous years if they wanted to go without a helmet."
